Understand Your Eggs

You are born with a set number of eggs, which decrease over time and at varying rates. We test for markers of your egg count and see what you're working with.

Key Hormone Indicators
Anti-Mullerian Hormone

AMH is released by cells around your follicles and is the most important hormone for testing ovarian reserve (the eggs you have “waiting in the wings”).

Test for AMH even on birth control.
Follicle stimulating hormone (FSH)

Responsible for growing follicles and starting ovulation. Too much FSH can mean your body needs extra oomph to get things moving.

Test for FSH if you’re not on hormonal birth control.
Estradiol

A new sex hormone produced by the ovaries. Since high E2 can mask a high FSH, we test these hormones together.

Test for E2 if you’re not on hormonal birth control.

Why should i test my fertility hormones?

With the information you learn about your hormones, you are better positioned to make decisions about when (and if) you want to start a family, whether or not egg freezing might be for you, and take action if your proactive tests show any red flags. Fertility testing is about arming ourselves with knowledge about our fertility earlier in life. Science can tell us a lot, but it can be confusing.

This fertility test has been designed to help you use science to inform your family planning decisions and do what’s extremely personal and right for you. And, if things interrupt your timeline, give you options. With a simple hormone blood test, you don’t have to wonder, you can get answers.

When should i take the test?

If your hormone panel contains E2, FSH or LH, it’s a good idea to test on Day 2-5 of your period. To identify this, count Day 1 of your period as the first day of a full flow that begins before 5pm.

Dr Iroshini Chua
LRCPSI, MB., BCh., BAO (NUI

When can i expect my results to come back?

You can expect your results to come back within 3-5 working days.

From here, you’ll be asked to schedule an appointment in with your gynaecologist online to have your results reviewed.

Dr Iroshini Chua
LRCPSI, MB., BCh., BAO (NUI

What happens after the test?

Your gynaecologist will explain your results to you in your consult and give you clear next steps, personalised to you.

You will receive a dashboard of your results which you can always refer to and show your partner, GP or specialist.

Can i do the Fertility Hormone Test at any age?

The test is most accurate for women aged 25 to 45.

As we want to make sure the Fertility Hormone Test will be most accurate for you and that the results are actionable and reflective of your situation, we do not recommend taking the test if you are younger than 25 years old or older than 45 years old.
